AQI Level Health implications Advice
0–50 Good Air quality is satisfactory; little or no risk. None.
51–100 Moderate Acceptable; some pollutants may be a concern for a small number of sensitive people. Sensitive people: limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
101–150 Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups Sensitive groups may experience health effects; general public less likely. Sensitive people: reduce prolonged/heavy outdoor exertion.
151–200 Unhealthy Some people may experience health effects; sensitive groups may have more serious effects. Reduce prolonged/heavy outdoor exertion; sensitive people should avoid it.
201–300 Very Unhealthy Health alert: increased risk for everyone. Avoid prolonged/heavy outdoor exertion; sensitive people stay indoors if possible.
301+ Hazardous Health warning: emergency conditions; everyone is more likely affected. Avoid outdoor activity as much as possible.
US AQI (United States Air Quality Index) is an air quality index defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The index ranges from 0 to 500, and higher values indicate greater potential health impacts. It is based on major air pollutants such as PM2.5, PM10, ozone (O₃), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), and carbon monoxide (CO), and is widely used by many websites worldwide, including AQICN (World Air Quality Index).
